The industrial market has been humming along nicely in Atlanta for some time, but the fourth quarter of 2015 may bring numbers the metro area has never seen.
The anticipation has been building since the second quarter, when 17.4 million square feet were under construction, marking the largest amount of inventory in the Atlanta construction pipeline since 2005. The third quarter ended with 16.5 million square feet still under construction, and much of that is set for delivery before the end of the year.
Based upon the current under-construction pipeline, Cushman & Wakefield Research indicates 10 million square feet of industrial product is likely to be completed during the year’s final quarter. If that happens, it will be a new record for the Atlanta industrial market in terms of deliveries in a single quarter.
